Some lost house keys and a local pub

We met as some like to call it, "the old-fashioned way" — at the local pub.

On a cold winter night in January 2016, Niki walked into a pub, all because she thought she'd lost her house keys.

A strapping young James was standing outside, one leg bent against the wall, talking on the phone. Not long after, Nakita overheard James's friend say, "what do you have to lose" and the rest, they say, was history.

A year from that day, they moved into their first house together. A year after that, they bought a flat. A year after that, Athena arrived. And four years later, Amaya came along.

11 years after that first chance encounter, Nakita and James will get married in Jamaica following their traditional La Dot Ceremony in Benin.
